Let me kick a bitch

Seems like I should have created a special page for this jazz here, the house stuff.  You've seen me rant and rave, bitch, piss and moan for what, 3 months over this house stuff. It's pushing my last nerve, again.  I can't stand it.

They called today, again.  They want to file another extension. After a bit of fit throwing they've decided to pay this one.  Which seems fair to me, it's not our fault they're idiots. So we've another 15 days to go... Again.  They're saying we need closing fees and possibly a years worth of insurance paid in advance. This part is confusing me because the letter reads as though they just need the proof and the lady is saying HUD is requiring it to be paid in advance. I want to kick a bitch!

My head aches... All this time, all the money.

I'm losing hope, losing faith. The light at the end of my tunnel is flickering away.

  1. I remember an endless trail of filing the same forms over and over and over when my dad died. I finally got sick of it and wrote the president. His staff sent me a letter. It had the same things I filled out on all the others, but the return envelope had a black band at the top rather than green or blue. They said fill this out and it would all be done.

True to their word, after four months of getting nowhere, I filled out the one form, sent it out in the magic enovelope, and it was done. Just like that.

Of course, that president was Ronald Reagan. I'd be surprised if the current one could help you. If nothing else, type up the story and send it to the HUD secretary. The worst that could happen is you'll be ignored, and thats pretty much where you are.

    1. We're so close to being done... I think. I am definitely going to look into contacting someone regarding HUD and the BS they put people through. Making us jump through hoops. FLAMING hoops! :/

  2. I haven't been following you long enough to know what's going on, but it sure seems like you're being exposed to a lot of frustrations. So sorry.

    1. Thanks Stephen, I don't know why I do these things to myself. I overload myself and then break down, slowly. Taking everyone around me with me! Awesome sauce right?

    1. Thanks Miss H! :) It really is annoying, I wish they'd get it all together already. House buying sucks these days I guess!

  4. The homeowners insurance is probably included in your house payment like mine Doria, along with city and county taxes. I like it that way, no surprises! Once you get into the house you won't have to worry about those things ever, because you are paying into it every month for the next year. It took me about 6 months to finalize my closing 20 years ago. I know it's hair pulling, patience is a virtue ; )

    1. Tim they've said that they want the first years insurance PAID before/upon closing. Then the next years will go into the escrow. The first year is like 700 smackers. UGH! It's been 3 months for us, so far!

  5. Are you sure that $700 isn't including taxes? Sounds high for just homeowners insurance. Each state is different though. Twenty years ago my homeowners insurance was about $100, not sure exactly what it is now since it's figured into my mortgage. I pay more also for "replacement insurance." It's well worth it.

About 8 years ago I had a power surge that fried 2-32 inch TV's, answering machine, phone, computer, monitor. After my $250 deductable they gave me full price to replace everything! It also paid for the assessment that electronics were not repairable and also paid for the electrical work to correct the nuetral wire problem. They say you never know how good your insurance is until you need it, mine is good!

    1. Yea, insurance is definitely a must have. For reasons like yours there. Nightmareish I bet! I've news regarding this today, so today so will be posting later. But that price is a whole year worth. I don't know, it's high I guess?!?!?

  6. I'd have to dig up some paperwork to see how much I pay now, $700 sound high but i may be wrong. It's a must have. If my house catches fire and I loose everything, all material things would be replaced at the cost of brand new. House totally rebuilt and money for a place to live until I got back in mine. It's a must on a lifetime investment, for Po' ppl like us!
