365 days of 2011

Iyiyi! I'm behind, again.  This will be a long post I fear and I hope you all will make it through it, bare with me, I will make it as short as I possibly can. It feels like it's been a week or so since I've updated my 365, so yea, it's going to be a rough update.
Let's get this party started, shall we?

Day 319
Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

Yea, so this is what we woke up to and sadly it hasn't changed much in the days to follow, there were a few wonderful days between then and now, but nothing to write home about I guess. Nothing new for our winters/falls here. Craptastic weather with a chance of sunshine on rare occasion.
Sadly, I didn't take the time (yes I forgot) to take any other picture on this day. Ooops.  At least I got one though, I guess!  It was a funnish day. Day 1 of my staycation and went to work for the Thanksgiving lunch. Finished my shopping list for Thanksgiving dinner and prepped myself  (mentally) to get prepared for Thanksgiving.  Awesomeness!
The turkey went into it's brine today and though it was terribly salty tasting, yes I tried it, it smelled wondermus!  ::excited::

Day 320
Thursday, November 24th, 2011

Happy Thanksgiving Day Dingleberries.
Yea, here's what time I got up. Ooooof!
First thing I did was take a smoke break, make some coffee and take a few swigs.  Then I proceeded to remove the turkey from the brine and get it all dried off an on it's cooking pan.  Note to self: 23lb turkey is a damn joke when it comes to handling said turkey and what the hell is up with tucking it's wings?  That's total BS if you ask me!
But ya know, Mr Monkey Butt and I managed to get it done and in the pan, thank you YouTube!
The finished product...
(Bows and waves at her adoring fans!)
Yes it went well and well my Mom and Dad always just prepare their turkey in a bag with the normal stuffs but I must say I really enjoyed the taste of the turkey this year, I think I love brine for Turkey and will never make another one without it!  It was tasty and well it was a fabulous Thanksgiving. Everyone showed up, like I said before, we had 11 people (including ourselves) in our apartment and it was nice.  The food was tasty and no one died because of my cooking, I shall call that a success. Right?
We later made a trip to my aunts house about 20 Min's north of here. That is after I had the kitchen clean and all the leftovers put in the fridge.  I wish the guest would have taken all the leftovers, but apparently Mr Monkey Butt likes to eat leftover Thanksgiving foods.  We had 2 pies left as well, so looks like more weight gain to come ;)
The family thing was OK, seems like every year less and less of them show up. It's a little sad, but I know the ones who are there really want to be or else they just wouldn't show up either. It was nice to see everyone under one roof again, it's been a couple of weeks ya know.  But it was nice and I didn't eat a thing!   Go me!

Unlike Pokey who gnawed on this turkey leg as well as ate about 4 desserts.  Needless to say she was a total grump later and passed out IMMEDIATELY once she got in the bed. Yessssss!
Day 321
Friday, November 25th, 2011
Happy Friday Dingleberries, did you all  remember to check out my Fridays Fabulous Photo post?  Just in case you were busy shopping on Black Friday.  I didn't, wouldn't and couldn't do the Black Friday shopping this year. One, I have no money and Two, I just had no interest in doing that again. I don't know why but saving myself a little bit of money on some junk that won't get played with anyone just doesn't seem like the thing I want to be doing. So I'm done with it!  Yessss!
I did hit Walmart later and found that they still had their black Friday junk in there, big surprise there and the prices were exactly the same, so whats the point and dealing with all the crowds. I guess if you want to save 39 bucks on a TV!  :)
Ooooh I'm not stopping with that, I've a few more things for today!
Who says Tina (my car) can't be used for EVERYTHING.  She now has qualities of a truck. She can haul an Xmas tree so long as the Home Depot guy is there to tie it down, because I've  no idea really how this tree made it home!
This fellow shopper, also getting an Xmas tree had a funny tag and Xmas tree in her weave.  lolz.  Fun times at the Home Depot!
Yawn!

Day 322
Saturday, November 26th, 2011

Lovely Saturday. Did a bit of running around, hit the Kroger and finished the grocery list.  Yesss!
The Xmas tree is up!  Yays!  It looks pretty and smells nice too. Ooooo I bet  it needs water, again. Thirsty arse tree!  The holiday season is here and like every other year it's OK for me to admit that now, because it's AFTER Thanksgiving and the tradition for us has always been put it up the day after Thanksgiving.  Yesss!
Now to figure out what presents to put under the tree, I hate Xmas shopping.  I hate all shopping.

There!  I'm caught up, mostly. I've still got to update for Sunday (today) but I will do that later, because I'm tired and need to check the tree.
Cya laters Dingleberries.
If you've made it this far, pat yourself on the back!  Because you're AWESOME! And thanks for reading!
