It's that time of week again, we love it don't we?!
You know you do, don't deny it.
This week, thanks to Pandora I'm sharing this one here .... The Animals- House of the Rising Sun.
Every now and then I enjoy a good old song. This one came from the 60's. Calling it a traditional folk song. Just goes to show, I know like absolutely NOTHING about folk music!! Pretty good song though. Hit number one in more than one country. Not to shabby I guess.
Have a fabulous day and don't forget to jam out. Go ahead and link up with Tuesday Tunes while your bored..
It's that time of week, one of our favorite times of the week where I can take a break from using my brain and share some random musical post for the week.
I've done pretty good with remembering to link up with the ladies listed above. Blog hopping or something like that. It's really pretty cool! They're always sharing some good music for the blogoworld as well! Check em out, also I've posted a button on my blog ... I think....
So this week, I know I hear it all the time but I can't place in what film I've heard it in recently ... Anyone know ?? It's driving me bonkers!
We Belong - Pat Benetar
I had no idea this is what Pat Benetar looks like. I guess I expected something like Joan Jett or something. Not sure why. Just goes to show, ya never can tell.
I'm checking in (first time this week). Manage to drag myself, tooth and nail away from the book of face and get in here and attempt to do a post and read some of your awesomeness!
Some time back I got a comment from one of my awesome Dingleberries, they'd started up a Musical Tuesday blog hop on their blog and once I was able to mosey my way on over there I discovered she's right.. I think I fit in nicely. Gives me more to read, listen to and possibly a bit more traffic as well.
It's not quite stinky enough in here if ya ask me! :)
So let's get this party started... My music for this week and I didn't fudge it up (mmmm fudge) and post it on the wrong day either... ::pats self on back::
Have an awesome Tuesday Dingleberries.. Cya back around her tomorrow!
And no that doesn't say feisty, though at times some of the characters in this film are quite feisty Still loving the movies.. I'm a nerd, I know ! Don't judge me.
I've been telling myself for weeks now to share this one, Where I Come From by Passion Pit. So far it's my favorite song on the BDpt2 soundtrack. . I say so far because the iPod thing insists on shuffling around and I don't always remember to just pick one album and go with it. It's OK though!
So I'm sitting home this morning, waiting for time to pick Pokey back up for her Dr appointment this morning... I remember making the appointment, wanting to make the appointment because..... I don't remember. I think I wanted them to check something, but I've forgotten. It bugs me when that happens!
It's nice not to have to deal with work this morning, ,though I wouldn't even be there yet if I were on my way. Just the thought of not having to deal with it for a bit today is nice! It's probably going to throw a wrench in my paycheck this week, but it is what it is. Something I should just get use to!
I'm still stressing the decision to take off the summer and possibly find a new job while I'm off, but I'm scared. Mr MB and I have not sat down and committed to a conversation that would ease my worries. I don't think we've ever done that before .. lol ... Oh well, I will figure it all out soon! I guess it's my gut telling me to go with it, my head however is telling me to be afraid. I know the gut feeling is always the right one .... but what if?
Well there ya have it, I'm hoping to have some time to do some reading today, reading of your blogs that is. I read a few yesterday! Go me! Go me!
I'm hearing this song in quite a few previews lately.. I'm hoping this means she's busy writing and planning another trip to the US. I know people need a break and respect that as well, but I hope she will be back soon.
I regret missing her in 2012 when she played Music Midtown ::Face palm::
I hope you're all having a fabulous Tuesday..
I've some rants and babbles I need to share, but right now (at work), may not be the best time to get it done.
Another pick from Mama MB. I doubt I ever mentioned it, but I wouldn't put it past myself. I tend to talk a good bit about Mama MB, more so while she was still living.. Mama MB loved some Elvis. So much so she married on his birthday. She was so silly!
Amazing grace, no matter who sings it always weighs heavy on my heart strings. I don't know what it is, I guess because it's so common to hear it played at funerals. I wasn't thrilled about it playing for Mama MB, but that didn't matter, because she loved it.
It's funny, it also reminds me of that old Steven King movie, Silver Bullet. Weird I know, but at one point during the movie. Someone's death I imagine, they play a version of that song. Love that movie.
So there you have it, this weeks music. I hope you all enjoy Elvis.
I actually thought about this post alll day today but oh my gawd we were so very busy at work. Was a nice change from the super slow Monday I had.
So it's late now and I need to get my sleep on, but this is one of the songs for played at Mama MB's funeral. One of her picks..
It's a good song, goes back to the Oh Brother Where Art Thou movie. Good stuff!
It's been 2 weeks (yesterday) since she passed away. Still sad, wishing she was here now. I keep reminding myself of all the wonderful memories I have of her, but I'm haunted with the memories of her passing...
That extra sleep on Sunday really did a good thing for this Monkey Butt. I'm feeling, better. Didn't want to get up this morning, but that's expected. It's work... Ya know work isn't always the greatest thing one can do during the week. Wishing I was one of those lucky ones who had the week off, with pay? Is that asking too much? Well it would be here! They don't like paying us most weeks. Selfish bastards!
So it has taken me all day to decide what I will share for my musical Tuesday. Of course I've decided to go with one of my favorite bands!
Rehab, this song is called Waho by the Hoti and the way they've put it up there looks like a Waffle House song. Perhaps there is a Waffle House located next to the hotel they're talking about. I am not sure, I keep myself away from Northside and most of Atlanta actually... I get lost so easily ya know. One way streets and dark alley ways, scare me. Don't judge me!!
So Rehab came to Athens this past weekend, Saturday actually. The day before my birthday and well I'd hoped that I would be able to see them. I'd not committed though because well.. I'm prego and well something about a bar filled with ... smoke ... and booze. Sounds like a birth defect waiting to happen...
That was evil.
I do love drinking though and quit smoking a year ago this month. Look at that, I'd forgotten already! It's been a whole year. Expect a post about that later too!! ;)
OK OK, back to it... So like I was saying, I'd made no concrete plans to go see Rehab. I was secretly just hoping and wishing to go see the Breaking Dawn part 2. Which I did, so life was complete, for another year!
So don't tell the Rehab band that I bailed on them this year for something.... a little less tempting in the bad side! Don't need any birth defects ya know?!
Mama MB once told me how much she loved this version of this song, as I sit here and cry at the rest of what she told me that day... That one day she wantsd this song played at her funeral.
I'm scared we may actually have to do just that.. I hope and pray it's not anytime soon but she doesn't seem to be getting any strength what so ever. Just seems to go up and down. No good news to report in regards to Mama MB. She's still hanging in there. Is that the best we can look forward to?
It's not fair... But I've said that before. My heart aches for what could be and dreads what might be!
This week I'm sharing some Green Day with you. I'm sure many of you remember Green Day ( are still aware of). I myself haven't listened to them in quite some time, honestly I've no idea what if anything they've put out recently, but this one came around the land of Facebook and I know some (most ) of you know my sick obsession with the Twilight Saga and how super excited I am that this month, 10 DAYS! It will be premiering. I'm sooo excited!
So when this video came through my feed, it's safe to say I couldn't click it fast enough
Check it out, if ya like Twilight I think you can appreciate this one. It's not the Green Day I remember from the 90's but it's not bad!
For those who have been around for a while, you know how MB feels about Rehab band. They're one of my favorites. I heard this one on the way into work this morning (didn't forget the iPod today). Thought to myself, hey mine as well share this one with my Dingleberries.
Probably one of their most popular songs, even people who aren't really familiar with the sweet sounds of Rehab band know this one.
On the book of face last week or so they created a group for support Danny Boone. Who saw this story? So apparently at one of their shows... They're alleging that Danny Boone punched a man in the face. This all happened way far over in Fargo. Being a drunk bastard he thought it was a good idea to interrupt the music by acting like a damn fool. A punch in the face or not, if you act like a damn fool at any show. You deserve to get yo arse knocked out.
It might just be me, but he should feel damn honored to have been socked in the noggin by Danny Boone. I'd never disrespect the man or anyone else (within reason) but if I did I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to get myself knocked in the head too.
Read the story it's insane. Of course there are two sides to every story and as you imagine, Danny Boone and the Rehab fans have the complete opposite to say on the matter.
So this beer is for you man, Keep on socking em! Enjoy the inside of the bar!
It's what I heard playing on Pandora this morning. Papa MB loves this movie and may very well own this soundtrack. It's not the style of music I typically listen to, but I really love it!
I know some of you may have heard this one. Have you seen the movie? Oh Brother Where Art Thou?
Takes me back some years, back to a day when I still thought George Clooney was to die for. Now he's still hawt but a big asshole at the same time. Go figure!
So there ya have it, it's all I got for right now. Enjoy!
Happy Tuesday Dingleberries! I bet you all were so worried I was trapped under packed and unpacked boxes. That the moving truck had someone shorted out and ran me over Maximum Overdrive style. That the new house had suddenly collapsed with all the boxes and the OMG sized couch being moved into it.
Well, lucky you, none of the above took place. We've pulled through alive and with a few limps and bruises. There were a few things in the place that required some maintenance but nothing too major. Little stuff really. The only big thing is the a/c unit. Unfortunately we're waiting for the a/c repair man to come fix it. Quite frustrating really, because the constant fans and open windows, with all of this rain... Yea it's not that great!!
I know our rain isn't anything compared to the disasters in LA again, but it's still pretty annoying to be under constant rain fall. This isn't Seattle dear Mother Nature, we enjoy our sunshine you know! How about where you are dear Dingleberries? Got any sunshine? Raining? Hanging in there?
So I'm mashing this post together with the Music For A Tuesday, I didn't forget. I did however manage to really let me 365 posts go to shiz over the weekend. Forgetting to take my photos... I don't know what to do, so I will just post what I got... It sucks really!!
Did my blogging friends in the states have an awesome Labor Day or what? It rained here, we ate some Pizza Hut and hit the Home Improvement store for the not working properly water heater parts. UGH! We have hot water now though. YAYS!
So lets jam to something this week.... Hmmm:
I'm surprised I remembered this one. ha ha. Randomly I will be like I need to share this one for Tuesdays. Yea I think of it on Thursdays and then forget with all the Monkey Butt actions! :) So I'm sharing today!! We all know this one....Right? If not don't tell me cause it will only make me shake my head. I recently seen it again in one of the Family Guy episodes. Good stuff!
Moving along, I hope you enjoyed that one. Take on me by A-ha.
So many things, obvious things I guess. Obvious stresses and anxieties! With the new place and all the new things. There are bugs in the woods! Bugs that are biting me as I walk through them. plants that are sticking MAXimus in the bum and he runs from the bushes. We aren't use to this, how weird is that? The grass seems TALL. More biting there as well. Now it feels like I'm covered in bugs bites... My car is covered in...dirt...mud...leaves...YUCK! Speaking of the car, it wouldn't start this morning. Was forced to hike down and up the driveways to Papa MB's storage shed for a battery charger thing... UGH! Luckily it got it going and life was OK for a bit.
Late for work, went to do the walk through at the apartment complex and turn in my set of keys. They're charging me for a stained counter top and I couldn't get the oven clean enough for their standards. UGH! It is what it is though right?! It's the best I could do with what I had and that's all they're getting!
Pokey's new teacher seems really nice, I'm terrified! I fear the school bus and getting up so early, this is a new chapter so far and it's going to be a long, hard chapter. In the beginning...
I"m going to keep doing what I do best though, Hanging in there! Till next time (we should have Internet soon)...
It can't rain all the time by Jane Siberry. I find this song very lovely, I haven't heard it in a while either. First time I heard it was actually in a movie "The Crow" with Brandon Lee. Anyone remember that one? Remember seeing it? It was a good movie, much better than it's sequel which didn't have the oh so adorable Brandon Lee as it's star.
Remember the story? The bad guys came in and murdered the couple, well threw him from a window and beat and raped the girlfriend who later died after hours of pain? He came back to avenge their deaths and kill all of those who were there. A story that's been played over and over again in many a movie with different characters.
Have you ever noticed they have pretty much covered everything in regards to movies? That they're constantly just rewriting the same movies, over and over and over again. Starring different people and milking our money for the same thing we've already seen ? It's redonkulous really!
Jane Siberry
Jane Siberry, is a Canadian singer-songwriter, known for such hits as "Mimi on the Beach", "I Muse Aloud", "One More Colour" and "Calling All Angels". source Anyone else enjoy the tunes of Jane Siberry? Anything in particular you love the most? Share it with us if so.. Have an awesome Tuesday Dingleberries, What are you jamming to today?
Many many a year ago, while a teenager in high school. I really enjoyed some Everlast music and some House of Pain. I loved it really and still enjoy it quite often. I didn't stay tuned with Everlast after his Whitey Ford Sings the Blues album.I guess I kind of fell out of the scene. Boys I could actually see and touch became more interesting than those silly hollywood crushes. Though he is a damn hottie. Was then and still is!
I hope you Dingleberries enjoy this weeks music. It's one I love to hear from time to time and many more of his to follow.
I remember having a poster of his on my wall as a teenager. Boy was so fine!
I'm digging this one! Ya can also find this one in the first Twilight film, sorry Berries. Ya know my spurts of Twilight, they don't typically last long. I've been hearing these on the Pandora player thing and I'm like, OoOoOo I need to share that, so here we go. Finally, if you ask me. Oh you aren't. Well shit. Whatever. Here ya have,
This week I'm sharing a bit of fan art with you, for those Twi-hards, you're welcome. For the Twi-haters, forgive me. Pattinson did a lovely job with this song, I love to hear his voice. Yea I'm Team Edward in regards to Twilight saga. He's so cute though.
For those who don't know, this song came in the ballet studio ( and correct me if I'm wrong) but it's when Bella was bitten by James and Edward is faced with the quick decision to suck or not to suck. He sucked! (and that is the ONLY time you will hear my say that)
Originally I wanted to share this one, because I thought it meant something a little different. That perhaps Bella there on the floor, flopping around like a dying fish, that he was signing for her, he was taking away the venom so she could live. I thought of all that's going on in my life and how I'd love to take away pain from some I love and those who are around me.
I sat in prayer, holding hands with Mama Monkey Butt on Sunday and just hoped that maybe I could be like John Cofe in The Green Mile, that I could take the bad from her and just release it. Into the sky where it will go away. It's too bad life isn't a fairy tale, where we can live forever, together.
It's unfortunate, but enjoy the tunage. Cya later!
