Day 251, 2012

It seems like forever since I've dyed my hair. It's making me crazy.  I've got dandruff and just yuck yuck yuck. Can't remember why I stopped for a little while.  Did I even mention that on here?

Tuesday, September 11th

I've had a busy day today with posts, making no exceptions and attempting to get them all done. I hope you all enjoyed today's music and read my post for 9/11 today.  I hope you all sent out your well wishings and happy vibes for the world today.

Watching some Tomb Raider right now, not one of my favorites.  I had no idea it had Gerard Butler in it though.  Then again I've never watched these movies. Guess Mr MB likes it, Angelina was never the hottest woman in the world, though I can understand why some men and women might think she is.  Must be the full, pouting lips?

So today was the boss lady's birthday. That must have been a shitty year back in 2001 huh?  Regardless we celebrated with some cake, ice cream and pizza. It was... nice.  She makes me crazy, but it was good to do something nice for her. For once!

I'm still working on reading "Where we Belong". It's a good book and hits home from time to time. Not personally of course but I've a bit more insight on how Mama MB might feel and my adopted brother.  You read that right, I've a brother, who lives in another state. Mama MB gave him up for adoption 20 something years ago. Some of you are aware already.  But he came into our lives, briefly some years ago and it didn't really last long.  I've never talked to him about how he felt or what he wanted out of the trip, but it is what it is.  I just hope he's happy in whatever he's doing these days.

Well I've gone on and on enough, need to save something for tomorrow, ya know?  I hope everyone had a fantabulous day.  Till later,

Hang in there!

Patriots day 2012: USA

My favorite photo from 2001

Eleven years ago today terrorist rocked our country with their crashing and destruction of New York's twin towers.  We've all heard the stories, read the blogs and the papers.  It was today eleven years ago so the news programs have been talking about it all morning and every chance they have since Monday this week I'm sure.  Nothing new there, I'm not complaining either.

It took the country to it's knees with sadness for many an hour, day, week, month and years for some of those.  I luckily was no where near New York, no where near a twin tower and luckily my family and loved ones were far away as well.  No matter how lucky I was there is many a person, child, husband, family was broken when this happened.  Many people lost their lives and had their lives ruined. It was a sad day. We all know this already.

So last year I didn't do a post for 9/11, not like I am today.  Actually last year it fell on a Sunday so I rambled on about hangovers or something, see here!

Flashing back .... Eleven years ago.

September 11th 2001 : My 19 year old self, (whom thought it was a good idea to rebel and move out after high school to spend all my free time with my boyfriend) awoke to the sun shining through the windows.

There wasn't much to brag about or even feel good about sharing about my life back in 2001.  Barely old enough to smoke, vote and join the armed forces, still too young to drink legally. I'd been a drinker for many a year before 2001. But these things are a post for another day....

Life was grand in the sense that I could wake when I wanted to wake, clean when I wanted to clean and work, well when I wanted to work.  The life of a child trying to pretend to be a grown up and live her grown up life with the boy she loved.

Things were normal, things were good.

So I wake up and things seem like things, our ....place of living.... was set back of the road and real shit hole.  There are no other words to describe the place, shit hole is the best description.

So I wake up in our shit hole and stumble my hungover ass to the living room which houses the very small television set I'd brought with me from my parents house.  Flicked it on, we had all of 8 channels or so. Yes back then you could still plug the television in and pickup channels like two, five and eight.  Then as you already know, the television is riddled with pictures and news reporters and then news they had for me that morning was insanity.

I think someone snapped this photo
of our busted house and one of my boyfriends cars!

I can't say I felt anything then. It's only recently that the emotional part of me has begun to work. I feel for people, but not as I should.  Now though I cry at sad moments in others lives, I send out a well wishing vibe each time I hear a story of some woman getting killed in a car accident, of a poor child being shot by some mad gun wielding lunatic.  I feel things now and I'm sad by all of the horrible things that happened to all of those poor innocent people eleven years ago.  I feel for how those widows and motherless/fatherless children feel and felt in these last eleven years. My heart and soul aches for them and their loss, even still. More so still because I couldn't let myself feel back then. I was a selfish little brat back then who only cared when I'd get more beer and pot.

Times have changed, I have changed... For the better, I  hope.

So today, we take a moment and send out a hug and a well wishing for those who suffered and for those who loss back eleven years ago when those planes went down and those buildings fell to the ground.

Music For A Tuesday: Simple Minds

Simple Minds, Don't you (forget about me).  We all better know this one and better have this movie memorized! Awesome awesome awesome stuff!!

Simple Minds- A Scottish rock band.

And by Scottish I do indeed mean the kind you see and hear about playing bagpipes and wearing those oh so awesome kilts.
Wonder what kind of panties he has on!

Ahhh a man in a kilt, that's something else isn't it? Just enough to make my knees weak and my heart flipper around.

We know he never wore panties under his.

Back to Simple Minds...... Popular in the 80's and 90's. With hits like Don't you (forget about me) and their US hit single Alive and Kicking not to forget their UK no 1 hit Belfast Child.  (source)

Breakfast Club:  Way back in 1985, mind you I was like 5.  I don't recall seeing this movie in the 80's and I can't remember what if anything Mama MB might have said in regards. Nor did I pick up on any catch phrases or scenes being acted out or repeated by the many a visitor at our home.  I do remember watching it as an older child though.  I didn't really get it back then, now it's one of my favorite movies.

That list is short and honestly may very well only consist of about 3 films, but I guess that's a post for another day.

I think we can all relate on one level  or another to this movie.  Love it, hope you enjoy. Have an awesome Tuesday!

Hang in there!

Day 250, 2012

Monday, September 10th
Shhh, ya hear that? Nothing!  Silence, with the exception of the television. The news is telling me we're in the upper 60's right now, still.  That's not such good news I don't think.  Pokey was pitching a fit this morning with that cold weather we were having. The car just won't warm up fast enough!

Just  a couple of things for tonight, I'm serious one of these days I'm going to have all my cleaning and things done in time to blog something worthy. Then again, aren't all my blogs worthy.  LIE TO ME!

So my browser needs to be updated... WTF is that about?  Of course it doesn't tell you how to update the browser, or shit even tell me what the browser is.  From what I've googled, its my Internet explorer.  Arg! I can't see the problem with the one that I have.  If I update said browser will I be stuck with both?

Still getting use to the whole new living away from the city.  Not only are we missing many things, convienience type things, it's pretty quiet.  So far Pokey seems to like her new school and her new friends.  She says she's befriended a little friend who happens to be in Pre-K.  They sit together on the bus. She still tells me the riding the bus with the older kids is creepy. She's so silly!

Watched Mr MB mow the lawn yesterday, I thought to myself, I wonder what he thinks about that.  I know me, I'd hate it. It would make me want to burn the house down and move back to the city where they mow the grass  for me.  He got it done though, maybe it wasn't too bad :)

Well Dingleberries, I must wrap this up.  Got plenty to do and must find me a notebook, because I'm getting good ideas while I'm out and not being able to jot them down.  OoOoOo maybe one of those voice recorder things, I can just talk to it while I drive home. Good idea right? Until next time ...

Hang in there!

Day 249, 2012

Sunday, September 9th
Sunday is coming to an end too soon.  Back to work tomorrow, a big BOO for that.  I hope that all things work out tomorrow and no bumps or bumbles.  I'd love a day of no BS tomorrow.   :)  Wouldn't we all though?

Our thermostat reads 76 right now, which makes my toes ache.  Mr MB went outside a bit ago and he said it's a lot cooler out there.  I'm not loving this fact.  For those of you who have been around for a bit know how I feel about the cold weather. For those who aren't sure what I mean, you will see :)

Until later, I must play catch up with some more sleep time.  Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Hang in there!

Day 248, 2012

Saturday, September 8th
Well hello Saturday.  Time to share some good news, the a/c man came out today. We have a/c in the new place. He said it might run for some time to help clear out all the moisture in the house. I sure hope  it does. I'm looking forward to sleeping tonight with the windows close and the ceiling fan OFF.  I'm also hoping that Pokey loses the cough she has picked up since the move, still blaming the open windows.

We went to Cleveland, GA today for the 'family reunion'. Not sure why they were calling it that, perhaps it's cheaper  or something?  I don't know, I didn't ask.  It was ... fun.  A good bit of the family was there, we were celebrating Mama MB's birthday with the family.   I hope she had fun, I think I was lacking some sleep because I just couldn't get into the feel of the place.  Maybe it's the weather.  It's cooled down A LOT if you ask me.  Windy and in the 70's, yuck! I miss summer, already!

Read a few more chapters of Where we Belong again tonight!  It's rough for me to get through it, not sure why. It's labeled chicklit.  I don't think I've ever read anything chicklit before. I'm going to stick with it though, it's not too bad.  Ya know I still haven't finished reading Queen of the Damned .  That one is pretty much impossible for me.  Guess Anne Rice isn't my cup of tea.

But I'm doing OK with keeping up with my posting (for now).  Glad to have the net, TV and a/c. It's odd how things work when you don't have those little things you like to think you can live with out.  Just goes to show it would be a weird life if we didn't have things.  Anyone else think like that?

Till later,

Hang  in there!

Finally, with a 2012

Hello my dearest Dingleberries, Thank each and every one of you for Hanging In There during my away times. I've tried to keep up with blogging, it's hard when there is no net at home, but it's on now.  On another good note, we should also have A/C tomorrow.  I bet Pokey and Mr MB are excited about that tid bit of news. Hell I think I'm even a bit excited.

The new house carpet makes me itch!  I think.  Something is making me itch and it just seems to be Mama MB and myself. Odd? I think so.

So what have I been up to?  Other than NOT updating my 365 posts?  Yea well, I've bombed it this year.  Well for a week anyway! So other than that, here's a good example of one thing I'm posta be doin'!

I'm posta be reading this book. I'm only in to about 3 chapters or so.  Which bugs me, but lately I just can't spare the time to get into it. With work and being busy, moving, unpacking, the new house and everything else in my life. Mama MB, new school, school buses and Pokey's new school. It's a mess. I don't want to move, ever again. Did I mention that in a previous post?

Oh, new news, I've actually started another blog, on word press.  Don't fret, I'm not moving, but at times I will post some things that aren't posted here. For those who are interested send me a note or something and I will link you over there!  :)

I'm also in the market for pictures and Monkey Butts for my Thursday and Friday post. I know a few of you have came to my beckon call and sent me what you had, again I'm so thankful. I'm also aware that some of you are new here and hey who doesn't want to share with a MB like me?  Send it on over, whatsonyourmindmonkeybutt(at)gmail(dot)com.  Leave me a message if you're sending anything over!  :)

So lets see....  for 2012 posts.  This saddens me, because for the last few days I've told myself to take a photo... I failed!  So let me do this thing, before I put it off and forget  again!    Check out my last post, HERE, this was the last 2012 post. I know you all saw it!  Last Wednesday's post, Day 237.  That being said let me share what I do have for this week!  :)

Day 238,
August 30th
Packing day... Dreaded packing day.  I remember, Pokey and I had a fun time at the Steak & Shake getting some dinner on!

It could have been a lot worse I guess and needless to say my blood pressure was through the roof and there was a shittastic taste in my mouth the whole time. Not on a literal sense of course, just frustration!

<3 My Derlin <3
Day 242/243
Sunday/Monday September 2/3
Sorry for the weird date thing I had going on. I snapped this one before bed on the 2nd, but of course it was after 12am on the 3rd. Being the MB that I am I just couldn't pick a day to stick it on though now that I think about it I'm more of a half full person so technically I should just call it Sunday the 2nd and be done with it, but it's a nice touch for both days,  being right there in the middle of HELL and all ;)  It's taken at the new place though and look I've already hung shit in the fridge. Mr MB gave me the oh gawsh when I went ahead and started tacking things up. Sorry.. It's not home until my fridge is covered in shit. Yes I said it, covered in shit! All my favorite shit though!

Took another couple of days off and BAM!

Day 247,
Friday September 7th
We celebrated Mama MB's 48th birthday last night.. I hope she enjoyed it, at least a little. She's in a lot of pain as of lately and doesn't really seem like she's loving life.  The news I'd got regarding her pain wasn't accurate  This is actually another thing caused by the cancer and sadly it's not going to go away until the chemo starts to work or they can drain the fluid and it could help ease the pain.

I can understand her pain, I can't say I feel her pain.  At times I wish I could so that she doesn't have to. Sadly, that isn't in the cards for us right now.

I pray things turn around for her, SOON.  Life is unfair at times, this is one of those times.

We've planned for a birthday gathering in the mountains for the weekend, my plans have changed. The A/C man is only available on Saturday so that throws a wrench in the plan for tonight, buuuut we're planning on taking the drive up on Saturday and spending the day. I'm excited, it's been months since we've been able to get out and have some fun. Maybe this is the weekend!  :)  I pray Mama MB feels better for this one.

So there ya have it, because I've gone on and on enough and I really need to read that book I'm working on. My book club friends are going to spread rumors that I suck at staying caught up with my reading.  I forgot to tell my Dingleberries, I finally finished reading Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.  Good stuff, I want to see the movie. Just to see what they kept and what the took out.  I was blown away by the ending though.  If you find yourself looking for something to read. Give it a shot, the same author also wrote "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies"  I'm actually excited to check that one out!

OK OK I will stop, cya later Dingleberries and don't forget .....

Hang  in there!
