Mmmmmm Monkey Bread

Monkey Bread

Ingredients:

4 cans refrigerated biscuits
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 sticks butter (3/4 cup)
1/2 cup white sugar
2 Tablespoons cinnamon
1/2 cup raisins (these are optional, it's great with or without them)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9-10 inch tube pan.
2. Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a medium sized plastic bag. Cut the biscuits into halves or quarters and place six to eight biscuit pieces in the sugar cinnamon mix. Shake well.
3. Arrange pieces in the bottom of the greased pan. Continue layering until all the biscuit pieces are coated and in the pan. If you are using raisins, place them among the biscuit pieces as you are layering.
4. In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour over the layered biscuits.
5. Bake for 35 minutes. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a plate. Pull apart and enjoy!

Icing Recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 pound cream cheese
1/2 pound butter
1 pound powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Directions:
1.Allow cream cheese and butter to get to room temperature.
2. Beat butter and cream cheese together in a large bowl with a mixer.
3. Slowly add in the pound of powdered sugar.
4. After all the powdered sugar is added mix for 12 minutes (do not mix less than that).
5. When almost done, add in the extract and lemon juice

Well I've heard all I can hear or read today in regards to this Troy Davis thing. I've no idea really and I'm choosing to just keep myself out of this one. It's making me nuts the hissy fits everyone is getting into over it. World hunger and war and we're worried about shit that is out of our control. Oh that's right, we are not in control, with anything.  So why bother?!  hahahah

Today was another busy day. I was late for work due to a doctor appointment, no worries all is well. No sickness just the checkup.  I'm glad its over with and can get back to everything else with that thing out of the way. Phew!

So now I'm staying away from facebook conversations and changes.  REM is breaking up now and someone is dying tonight. It's a strange world we are living in today, oh way.  There's nothing new there, but I'm shocked that REM is breaking up. Sad sad times!

OoOoOoOo Saturday!  It was lovely lovely.  Rawked my new hair color with curls.  Isn't it soooo cute!?  We went to the fair also. Did I mention the fair was in the town, I've been waiting patiently for what seems like FOREVER for the fair to get in to town!  It was as awesome as ever, but dahlin Pokey found time to whine! Someone tell me how anyone could whine  at the fair?  You're surrounded by yummy foods, (some of which she was eating) there were a crap load of rides she could ride (and wouldn't), it was just a long day right?  Yea, let's go with that!  ::winks::

Sunday means I have to go back to work, I don't care for Sunday very much.  It's an evil kind of day. Which confuses me because most of the Christian America goes to praise their gods on this evil Sunday.  Doesn't make much sense to me.  Just sayin'!

Today was nice, hung out with Pokey and New Guy. It was so very awesome and sadly the night came to an end.  But on the bright side one of my dearest lady friends reminded me her hubbys band was playing. I talked myself into going out on to the town and listening to them jam at a local Lounge. It was a lot of fun and I  sure am glad I went :) Made it home by 12.  Yipes!

My hair isn't as bright today. That makes me sad. Not only did I find myself bitching about that but add on the rants of the phone I have making me mad, being a piece of junk. Something about my phone, it loves to make me mad. Then the apartment lady, oh did I tell you, we applied for an apartment back in the city I just moved from (go figure).  It will be nice to be back in the city and a small 5 miles from work.  Oh how nice that will be.  But today she tells me, oh you were denied for such and such reason pertaining to criminal issues. Ummmm what are you talking about woman?  We have no felonies. A) I've never been to jail and B) he holds a concealed gun permit which felons are unable to receive.  Long story short, it was a misunderstanding and we were approved a couple of hours after lunch time with only a 300 dollar deposit.  Steep I know, but it happens!  We have a move in date for November 1st and I'm jumping for joy! It's going to be EPIC!

Happy Friday folks. It was a lovely night, long boring day, but the night was good. Changed my hair color, again!  (nothing new there). It's a red color, not too shabby if I do say so myself!

Lost can't mean Forgotten

I've lost some of my favorite things.

I lost them in the "fire".

The "fire" was when all hell broke loose and things went wrong.

These lost items, though only lost to me.

I've no idea what they may be.

I only know they're lost to me.

Lost forever.

I've only an empty shelf where they use to be.

Little trinkets glisten in the back of my head.

Sparkles of light thrown from my lost items.

Lost and never forgotten trinkets of life,

Lovely written letters,

Stories of another time,

Pictures of my favorite friends.

Lost! Misplaced! But Never Forgotten!

Today was slow.  Very slow to be exact. We brought in the dreaded wrecked cars from yesterday. I hate those things sitting out back, because I KNOW someone died in that thing. It makes me sad!

That being said, on the way home traffic came to a screeching stop for a few miles and when up to the split I realize they are sending us on the highway that I am not to familiar with, (Boooo getting lost) Sadly the scene of the accident involved a blue motorcycle and an 18 wheeler, day just got a little sadder.

On a good note...

The fair is in town as of tomorrow. I'm flippn excited. We are suppose to go on Saturday or this weekend, or whatevers. Its going to be GREAT!
